I read the maze Runner and the scorch Trials by James Dashner, and I think Teresa changed a lot throughout the series; at first she was a scared teenage girl, but changed into a fearless leader. At first when she wakes up in the glade she seems scared to see unfamiliar faces. When she speaks in Thomas's head she said "Tom, I don't know these people, come get me!!!". Later in the book, it seems as if she's never had fear in her life. Teresa was in a jail type place, and was acting as there weren't any grievers flying around at all. In the second book, Teresa was acting like a traitor, and somehow became the leader of group B, she even hurt Thomas a few times as if she's lost all her kindness. As Teresa did this, she seemed like it was no big deal to act like that, like se can be like that when ever she wants to, that's why I thinks she's changed.
The theme of the Maze Runner series is definitely survival and a quest/journey. In the first book the main theme was survival against the grievers. It was life or death when it came to grievers, so it was kill or be killed. This continued when the glade started to fall apart, giving the Gladers a big disadvantage. For some reason the gates to the glade did not close, giving the grievers complete access to the glade. The second book is where the quest takes place; the Gladers had to go on a quest to find the safe haven to get the cure for the Flare. The Gladers cant predict what will happen in the scorch making it a quest, and the quest includes a few deaths, mixing with survival.
Out of the two books I read, The one I liked the most would have to be the Maze Runner. It seemed to have a lot more interesting drama and emotion than the Scorch Trials. For example, when Chuck died it would almost make a reader want to cry, especially after Chuck's last words which he never got to finish. What happened in the book really made you think and worry about the characters. That's why I like the Maze Runner better than the Scorch Trails.
