Alby before the glade ...
(is not written by James dashner. This story is a made up back story of a character from the series)
Alby was running for his life. As the flare kept crashing into the earth as it made its way from the glazing sun. That is all Alby could think of at the moment, run. As soon as he could gain his train of thought, he yelled for his brother who was lost somewhere in the cloud of fire from the flare. Then at last, he saw his brother but only his eyes.
Alby’s brother was trapped inside a huge clump of stone, concrete and dust. Alby yelled for his brother, but no response came, he had no choice but to run for his wounded brother. The heat from the flare burned on his skin as he ran through the storm of fire and heat. He kept covering his face and only got glimpses of the world around him, and a couple times he saw a shadowy figure hidden in a corner who seemed to be observing him. At last when he reached his hurt brother, he then attempted to lift the stone rocks, but they were too heavy to carry single handedly.
He screamed for help, but no one came to his aid. He then removed his hand from his face, exposing his body to the heat of the flare, burning his skin to see his flesh. He attempted to lift the heavy stones once again, this time the rocks lifted, but to alby lifting the rocks was complete torture. The heat in the air made it feel like his sweat was his melting skin. At last he dug up the body of his brother, but his eyes did not open, he was unconscious.
Alby yelled at his brother to wake up, but his eyes did not move an inch. Then all of sudden, Alby heard the sound of cracking stone behind his ear, the building behind him started to somewhat lean towards them, it was clear to alby that soon the building was going to collapse. With out thinking, alby picked up his unconscious brother in his arms and started to run towards the rescue truck. Carrying his brother burned his muscles, already tired from lifting up the stones and rocks, but he knew his brother’s fate depended on alby, he could not give up now. With a loud breathe, alby set his brother down onto the back of the truck, and started to drive away.
As alby started to run for his truck he heard two things at once, the large crashing sound of the building slamming itself to the ground and the scream of a woman. Alby panicked and didn’t know what to do, and without any second thoughts he ran for the woman’s scream. The scream led him to a room inside a gas station but when he got there, no one was there. As he started to walk out he felt a sudden bit of pain in his neck witch then started to grow rapidly. He slammed his neck, trying to find where the pain was coming from until he felt a needle-like shape stuck in his neck, then as he started to turn around to leave, he fell to the ground. He felt his consciousness start to leave his mind, and the last thing he saw was a familiar shadow-like figure with a metal badge that spelled the word, ”WICKED”.
